Paddy believes in a Canada that uses its influence internationally. Canada is admired as a successful society with sound democratic institutions and as a tolerant, multicultural population. The world needs more of Canada: peace, order and good government is what Canada exemplifies. Paddy has worked locally, nationally, and internationally on major issues. She is committed to:

• Working with Burlington individuals and non-governmental organizations to end global poverty and see the Millennium Development Goals achieved
• Fighting HIV/AIDS and ensuring better understanding for those affected
• Advocating gender equality at home and abroad, Paddy hosts a yearly international women's day breakfast in Burlington, highlighting the achievements of local women making a difference in a variety of fields
